White Logistics & Storage joins Haulage Exchange

White Logistics & Storage Limited has become the latest road transport operator to become a member of Transport Exchange Group’s freight trading platform. The Worcestershire-based company will use Haulage Exchange to maximise free capacity by filling empty return loads and getting connected with likeminded logistics partners across the UK.

White Logistics & Storage joins more than 3,000 couriers, owner drivers, hauliers, freight forwarders and logistics providers that are trading more than 500,000 movements every month via the Exchange. The company aims to boost the productivity of its mixed fleet of 60 commercial vehicles, especially 30 smaller vehicles made up of 7.5, 12 and 18 tonne rigid trucks.

The transport management team, based at White Logistics & Storage’s head office in Pershore, will use Haulage Exchange to post available resources and target complementary work requirements from other members. It will also look to create a network of trusted partners moving forward, which will enable them to not only make best use of assets but also expand operational capabilities and geographic reach.

Andrew Johns, Traffic Manager at White Logistics & Storage Limited commented: “We have been looking for an effective means of making the most of our resources to boost our productivity and profitability. Removing any waste and dead mileage from our transport operation will make a real contribution to our operational performance, so we look forward to becoming an active and established user of Haulage Exchange.”

Lyall Cresswell, Managing Director of Transport Exchange Group said: “We have seen rapid growth of our freight trading platform in recent months, with a 35 per cent increase in the number of vehicles operated through the site since the beginning of the year, as operators look to better control operational costs and strengthen margins. Using the exchange, our members can get connected and engage with other likeminded businesses across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe to develop and maintain lasting relationships that will ultimately support business expansion.”
