Streetscape garden wins silver medal at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show

Streetscape and young garden designer Will Williams have achieved a silver medal for their Summer in Sussex garden at this year’s RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. The award-winning garden was sponsored by Paragon Software Systems as part of its ongoing support for the South London-based social enterprise.

Streetscape’s Summer in Sussex garden takes its inspiration from the beautiful Sussex countryside where 20 year old Will Williams and Streetscape founder Guy Watts both originate from.  The garden includes a number of plants seen in Sussex as well as flint sculptures and paving created with reclaimed bricks originally manufactured in one of Sussex’s many brickworks. It was awarded the silver medal in the City Garden category.

“We are very pleased to be able to sponsor the Summer in Sussex garden and would like to congratulate everyone involved,” says William Salter, Managing Director, Paragon Software Systems. “We have supported Streetscape for a number of years and taken great pleasure in seeing them go from strength to strength, helping underprivileged young people gain the life-changing skills, experience and attributes they need to follow a career in horticulture.”

“What a great experience for all the apprentices involved, who are now able to say that they have helped build an award winning garden at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show,” said Guy Watts, Co-Founder of Streetscape, after winning the award. “We are delighted with the silver medal which reflects everybody’s hard work and commitment to building the perfect City Garden for this event.”

In addition to the Sussex fauna, visitors to the Streetscape Summer in Sussex garden were also able to enjoy sparkling wine from Sussex vineyard Nyetimber and bottled water from South Downs Water.
